An experienced wine communicator, Dominic Brennan offers two types of wine tasting, each available either in person or online, ensuring that the current pandemic can’t get in the way of learning about and enjoying wine. Both ‘Sour Grapes Tastings’ and ‘Tasting Notes’ are detailed below.
Sour Grapes Tastings
Available via the blog, Dominic runs a calendar of both in person and virtual tastings, ranging from fun, blind tasting evenings, to tastings of exceptional vintage wines at a fraction of the usual cost.
With experience of hosting tasting for hundreds of participants over the years, both in person and virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic, his relaxed and light-hearted style focuses on demystifying wine for maximum enjoyment.

Tasting Notes: The Christmas Tasting
Friday 11 December - 7.30pm - Online & On Demand
Join Dominic & Jessica for Sour Grapes’ first Christmas tasting, a fun and informal evening tasting three exceptional wines, hand picked by Dominic as Christmas wine suggestions to go perfectly with turkey, goose, nut roast or on their own: two whites and one red.
We’ll cover the basics of tasting and delve into three very different but equally special wines, which will be available to buy after the tasting for the lowest prices on the UK market.
During the evening Jessica will delight us with songs, arias, and perhaps a Christmas number or two, and there is likely to be an appearance by our two Bengal cats, as well as opportunities to win a prize…
£70 per household.
Each ticket includes a case containing three full bottles of wine (market price £55) with supplemental information from Sour Grapes, an interactive tasting with Dominic and a recital performance by Jessica. Delivery to the mainland UK is included in the price (please contact us if you are looking to deliver further afield, though).
Should you not be able to join in the live tasting via Zoom on the evening then the video of the tasting will be made available to view on demand at your leisure!
Sour Grapes Blind Tasting

Join Sour Grapes for a fun and informal evening of wine tasting with socially distanced groups battling to correctly identify four white and four red wines, all of which offer tremendous value (with the odd curveball thrown in for good measure!) and win a prize. As well as covering the basics of wine tasting and region specific wines, there will be fizz upon arrival and grazing platters.

Fantastic Fizz: Bruno Paillard

Join Sour Grapes for a special live tasting, looking at how different types of sparkling wines are made, before a vertical tasting of exceptional wines from Bruno Paillard, one of Champagne’s finest producers, including their exceptionally rare N.P.U 2004 vintage. Wines will include:

Tasting Notes
In tandem with outstanding London-based lyric Soprano, Jessica Cale, Dominic developed ‘Tasting Notes’, wine tasting with a twist.
Between tasting wines, led by Dominic, Jessica performs sung musical interludes, complementing the wines and enabling participants to sit back and enjoy both music and wine.
Available both in person and live-streamed over the internet, Tasting Notes has delighted several corporate clients via virtual tasting during ‘lockdown’, with references available upon request.
